Interview with Tal

Q: How long have you being doing what you do and How did you get to be Wellness expert?

A:

To be able to answer the question I need to share with you a defining time in my life.

In 2000 I found myself at the lowest point in my life.  I was three months pregnant, needed surgery and had just moved to Colorado where I didn’t have a support network of family and friends.  Totally isolated with a 3 year old, a premature baby and a rocky marriage, food became the friend I turned to more and more.

A year later, at 200+ pounds, depressed and out of energy, I hit rock bottom. I knew it was time to look at my future and make some very tough, but critical decisions and choices to move my life forward.

I took the traditional route—moving more and eating less but I also started to examine my, mental and spiritual health.  I found that my thoughts, self-talk, personal outlook and beliefs were negative, devaluing and demeaning.

It was then that I realized my real work had just begun.

Over the next three years, I worked on my physical, mental and spiritual fitness.  As I learned how closely each of these parts supported the other, my life significantly improved.

I’ve gained self-confidence and learned to love myself, I lost more than 60lb. and energy levels went high – even my kids noticed the difference and told me they like their “new” mommy better.

I became a Certified Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach in order to share my transformation with other women finding themselves in a similar place.

It became my passion to support and guide women to live the very best life possible by achieving their optimum physical fitness combined with overall wellness and personal fulfillment.

Since then I’ve worked with many women, helping and guiding them to get what they want out of life.  I believe we all can achieve increased energy, more fun, greater peace of mind, less stress and healthier bodies – and I have developed programs to take anyone to their next level of well-being.

Q: Who are your clients exactly?

A:

Mostly women between the ages of 40 and 60 who decide they want to change and transform the way they manage their well-being. They are ready to gain control over their changing bodies and changing lives. I guide and support them to live in a healthy way, to lose weight, to increase their energy, deal with stress more effectively and change their bodies into the best shape of their lives. All that while learning to love themselves inside and out, develop more confidence, believe in themselves and discover their vision and passion.

Q: How are you different from other coaches and trainers?

A:

I’m different because I know how to create optimum results in all areas of women’s lives – I know that body, mind and spirit work most effectively when they are working together — and as you already read, I have personal experiences, I understand the obstacles, the frustrations, the difficulty of making the change you desire.

Some women go to a trainer to help with their fitness while others go to a therapist to get a better understanding of their mind and their emotions – I combine body, mind and spirit into the same program. As a trainer and a coach, I approach body, mind and spirit in a unified, positive way.

As your coach, together we’ll indentify what’s worked for you in the past, we will build on your strengths, and by understanding your “whys” we can create strategies to deal with the obstacles.

I will support you in creating a vision for your life, help you rediscover your passion and employ self-care techniques. You’ll find ways to really love yourself and regularly acknowledge how truly wonderful you are.

As your trainer I will develop a personalized program for your individual body‘s needs and fitness levels which includes integrated programs.  You will work hard, yet have fun at the same time.

Integrating those pathways of body, mind and spirit and making changes in all at the same time will powerfully maximize your results and assure your success in maintaining your body better than focusing on just one at a time.

Additionally, I most often work with a specific group age of midlife women because I understand the needs, goals and challenges that are unique to them. I’ve designed the very best programs to address those needs.

Q: What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?

A:

Most women I know want to lose weight, get in better shape, manage stress better, have more control over their lives and be empowered, BUT not all are ready to change, not all are willing to do the work, to put out the effort to make the difference in their lives.

If you are looking for a quick and easy fix you are NOT going to have the best results from my programs!

You must be willing to admit that since it took years to get into your current condition, shape and mind-set that it will take an investment of your time and hard work to change.

We will work best together if you are open-minded and understand that body, mind and spirit need to be in harmony for you to be your healthiest and happiest.

It will be important to work on these three together in order to achieve lasting results.

By working with me you will exercise and challenge all parts of you, all three aspects will get fit and you will have homework (yes, homework).

You must be willing to exchange old comfortable habits for new ones and be prepared to take your body, mind and spirit to places they’ve never been before with a “no excuses approach”.

Q: What kind of person gets results from your programs?

A:

It is critical that you are willing to change old, comfortable habits for new ones. By taking a no-excuses approach, you will get incredible results. That said, I’m selective about who I work with, sometimes choosing to turn away clients if I think they won’t do the work necessary to get the results they say they want.

Three more things about compatibility:

1 – I come from a non-judgmental place — at the same time I’m a straightforward person, so you always know where I stand and what I think. Honesty, openness and willingness are essential components of any relationship and equally essential to your success in my program – if you find these to be difficult, then, perhaps my program is not a good match for you.

2 – Clients who find it’s easier to spend money on a new flat-screen TV than on their well-being are not a good match for me.

3 – And last – no whining, please! Stand up to whatever you create in your life, that’s the only way to learn from your life experiences – I won’t judge you, rather I’m here to help you to learn and grow from it – but please, no excuses!

Q: Does it really work?

A:

Yes, with my approach of combining training the body, mind and spirit, you will be able to make the change you’ve dreamed of making, but just haven’t been able to accomplish on your own.

You’ll get tools, exercises and homework with my personalized guidance and support.  So over time, while doing my program you’ll move step by step into a new version of yourself as an energized, focused, positive and happy person having the best wellness and fitness of your life!

A:

Q: How quickly can I expect results?

A:

Obviously, this depends on how well you incorporate the program into your life. That said, I’ve found that even those who have difficulty making changes, feel different in just weeks and sometimes after a few days. They begin to have more energy, experience some weight loss and their mind-set is starting to change so they understand their obstacles and learn to manage them differently.

Just signing up for one of my programs can give you an immediate sense of satisfaction and direction for your life. As with any exercise program, you’ll start to notice encouraging physical changes like looser clothes within a very short time . . . but with my programs that’s just the first step that will encourage you to keep working for amazing, lasting change and being able to have the life of your dreams.

Q: How can I guarantee myself the results I want and that they will last?

A:

Commit to doing the assignments and exercises. Be a full positive participant. Don’t make excuses to me, but even more importantly, don’t make excuses to yourself. A very essential part of the program is to learn how to manage whatever life brings your way and tackle obstacles.

Ask for extra support when you need it, trust yourself that you can do it — and know that I’ll be there with you every step of the way.
